“ The City of Ocala has been doing business with Big D Roofing Company and Don Stauss for the past thirteen years.
The City has an annual contract with Big D Roofing for all re-roofs and roof repairs at all City buildings. In addition, if we have a problem with any of our roofs, Big D responds within two hours to take care of the problem; sooner if it is an emergency.
Last year, Hurricanes Jeanne and Francis did damage to several of the City's roofs. Big D responded during the storms to keep the water from damaging the interior of these facilities.

“ It has been my pleasure in working with Big D Roofing, Inc. for the last 10 to 12 years in a variety of minor to major roof situations. Don Stauss has always performed above and beyond what has been asked for in meeting our requests for roof maintenance and replacement.
In 2004 Hurricane Charlie destroyed roofs on two of our large and critical buildings in the Polk County area and within one to two days they were on the site making repairs. These two buildings were major support centers for materials and transportation for the storm restoration in the center of the state for Progress Energy - Florida. During this same time one of our Combustion Turbine Power Units in Avon Park, Florida went down due to roof failure. Big D Roofing, Inc. made temporary repairs so that this unit could come back on line and provide power to approximately 30,000 customers in the Polk, Okeechobee, and Hardee County area. This was a job well done for Progress Energy - Florida. The employees worked long and hard hours under extreme weather conditions to make this happen.
If my records are correct, Big D Roofing, Inc. has replaced approximately 59 roofs that range from about 500 square feet to about 12,000 square feet and untold number of roof maintenance repairs. I would highly recommend this roofing company based on the excellent service they have provided for Progress Energy - Florida. ”
